My friends love to send me photos and videos through iMessage... So much that it now takes up 12.5GB of my storage.

I want to backup all these files to my Mac then delete them, but the only way I know how to do that is to:

manually save each attachment to camera roll
import attachment into iPhoto
delete attachment

This could take me hours (if not days) of scrolling to hunt down every single photo and picture because there's a ton of them... It's over 9,000!

Click the details button in the thread.... all your attachments are right there. Tap & Hold, click "More" and select as many as you want and delete.

Whoa dude thanks, I've never seen that before.
You used to have to scroll all the way to the top or your message and then it would load the next page and the next and the next... and after you get all the way to the first photo, you select it and the rest appear.

It's new to iOS 8 to solve that exact problem. :D
