How do I backup iMessage to an iPad or my Mac?

Is there an app that will allow all of my text messages to not only be sent to my iPhone, but also to be sent to my Ipad or Mac at the same time or do I need an app to back them up?
 
Login using the same Apple ID on the other devices. If these are iMessage messages they'll show up. Regular text messages though will not.
