OK.

Changing the HD in my PowerBook G4 and need to know how I can back up the info on the old drive ???

I dont want to reload all the crap I have accumulated on this HD ... but some i will want to add back.... how do I decide what gets reloaded ?

THANKS !!!!

Here is what I did:

1. Put the NEW drive in an external enclosure
2. Use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy the old drive to the new drive.
3. Boot off the new drive in the enclosure to make sure it was working.
4. Swap drives (put the old drive in the enclosure for future use)
5. Boot off new drive (not in your PB)

Check everything out, and when you think it looks good, you can reuse your old drive in the enclosure as an external drive.

You can clean off the extra stuff after you know your new drive is working...

Just make sure the enclosure you buy is compatible with the type of drive you have in your PB. Lots of people sell enclosures...
