I was given an G3 iMac from I place I worked (more than a year ago) and it runs 10.1
I would like to install Tiger, but I need to install the firm ware update first.
To do this I have to boot from OS 9.1, how do I do this?
Is 9.1 even on the iMac? (I can run it in Classic mode)

I don´t have the original OS disk that came with the iMac, and the ones that gave it to me dosen´t have it either

Go to System Preference > Startup Disk.

If there is a folder which says "Mac OS 9.1 (Classic) on Macintosh HD" or something along those lines, then click on it and then hit restart.

If there is no folder, then you need a Mac OS 9 installation disk. That said, there should be that folder there, because otherwise you wouldn't be able to run classic.

Thanks Elppa. That did the trick. Just waiting for my RAM stick that´s on it´s way and I´m ready to go
