how do i burn a dvd?

I have downloaded handbrake, but dont know what format to put it on. I want to take a regular movie dvd i own and be able to copy it how do i do this?

Handbrake is for transcoding DVDs to another format like H.264 or DivX. The app you want is MacTheRipper. You use MacTheRipper to rip the DVD to your hard drive, and then you can use Toast 7 Titanium to shrink it and fit on a single DVD-R.

I would start with MacTheRipper then toast 7, but do a forum search, there's tonnes of posts on this.
