How do I burn from a saved disc image?

I saved my hour long imovie project as recommended by a member, thank you, as a disc image, and now am a bit stuck trying to burn it. There are 2 icons on the desktop, one as .img file, the other as a disc. When I drag and drop to the round dvd disc icon, all I get are a audio TS file and video TS file.

Launching idvd again merely starts the hours long encoding process that saving as a disc image did.

Try disk utility.
It's in Applications/Utilities.
It should let you burn the img to a disc.
