I want to buy an iPhone 4 so I can resell it on eBay. How do I do this?

Buy it straight from the Apple store SIM free if they have any left or order one SIM free from Apples webiste

Go in any apple store, if you found aNY, ask for the "full price" or "no commitment" purchase ($699+tax)

That's it!

So how do people sell on ebay for $700? After eBay fees arent they losing money

I dont see where to buy one SIM free on Apple.com..

Oh, I guess your in the U.S then, I have no idea how you would go about buying one online then, on the UK Apple site you can just order it SIM free from their website, you will probably just have to get one from a physical Apple store then

you cant find any free contract iphone over apple.com. go to any apple retail store and ask them for free contract iphone. i believe you must have at&t on your current iphone. you should talk to some sales there

I don't know about you guys in the US but on eBay UK the iPhone 4 32GB (£600 in store SIM free) is selling for £900+, even after fees you are going to come out with a healthy £200 profit

can I return it too?

for a 15% restocking fee

Actually it's 10% restocking fee. That's what I've been told when I bought my iPhone 4 16GB (Black) with no contract. I ended up paying $658 :( .. I received an iPhone 4 from my brother (full price paid; as a gift). Now I got 2 phones. I might as well just sell the one I bought for myself or vice versa.

If you don't have a contract and want to buy one, say it is for a gift to someone. Good luck finding one. Might just have to reserve one at your local Apple Store and get on a waiting list. Thats what I did. Probably be atleast a week. Or 2.

Looks like they will be selling them unlocked in Canada for $599 (16gig) and $699(32 gig).

I won't touch them until the reception issue is resolved though.

I figure that will take a couple of months to fix. The funny thing is all the people defending Apple right now through this non-sense are going to be the first ones all pissed off and complaining when Apple starts applying a clear insulating coat to the alloy on the phones sold around August and their stuck with the early defective models.

Anyone know if you have to be a certain age to pick one up? Im 15 and i want to get a no commiment one so i dont have to add another 2 years.

I would assume if their willing to sell them without a contract there would be no age restriction on buying them. Obviously if there is a contract required then you probably need to be 18.

I dont think its worth trying to do this. Maybe if you had gotten one on day one, then you would be able to get over $1000 for it, but by the time you are able to get one so will thousands of other people, and demand will reduce, which will reduce the prices on ebay. Just wait till next year to do it.

Can anyone comfirm this? I hate to go for a 30 minute ride there to find out i cant even get one due to age.

Just to clarify I'm confirming this for Canada only. I don't know what the situation is for selling them unlocked or out of contract in the U.S is.

If your thinking of driving up here to get one you can call the number off the www.apple.ca site to get information on which stores will have them in stock. For the moment they haven't received any stock in Canada yet, last I heard we'll be waiting until the end of July.

Your not really sitting on the computer waiting for an answer right? Why dont you just call the store? Lol
Lol no i just checked back on this topic and replied to it 5 mins ago.
And because my 3GS isnt working ATM and im using my iPad. No House phone.
