How do I (can I) remove an iMac monitor?

I have a 17" flat screen iMac with a bad graphics card. Because of the expense of replacing the mother board I had the perfect excuse to buy a dual 1.8 G5. I am now parting out the iMac. Is it possible to remove the monitor and rewire it so that it can be used separately?

I'd appreciate any advice, suggestion, links, etc.

Hmm... I'm no expert, but doesn't sound too plausible... The big problem would be powering the monitor. It was originally powered internally somehow, in the base, but would now have to be plugged into an outlet... Not sure how to do that. Hope someone has some better advice, as I'm just winging things
