How do I change finder and trash icons?

I am in the process of changing my icons, I don't want to buy Candybar so am using the past-into-getinfo method. How do I find the Get info windows for Finder and trash?

Try this...the article is for Panther, but I believe it also works the same way for Tiger.

Look in /System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources/ - you'll find trashempty.png, trashfull.png and finder.png.
