I need to change the GPU driver on macbook pro 2011 17" from the 6xxx series to 7xxx , can someone help me I need to completely delete the AMD 6xxx and add the AMD7000 controller.

I see the gpu efi variable fix where the commands add and delete certain kext to kill the gpu but I am needing to have a macbook be able drive a 7000 series video card !

Thank so much!

Interesting idea!
I suspect the system would take care of that for you automatically, when you replace the 6770M with an AMD7000 series GPU.
How are you going to do that? Your Thunderbolt 1 bus would not have enough bandwidth to use an external GPU.

I've physically replaced the Chip already with a rework station, the OS loads because the keyboard backlight comes on but it blacksreens
and I can tap the volume and it sounds , external monitor is not working I tried another case same thing .
I'm certain I soldered the chip correctly I've done more than 60 to the 6xxx series with failed chips .

Its not accepting it without the correct driver and possibly the DEV_ID

What GPU are you planning to use? It's not exactly what you are attempting, but I got a Radeon 7950 (desktop) running on an original Mac Pro, I don't know if the kexts I have for that may of be any help or if it's of any help in relation to unloading and deleting the 6xxx kexts
