No...the 500 post rule still applies to demis/contributors. The only ways to get an avatar with fewer than 500 posts are to be selected as a moderator or to win one of the rare avatar contests.
 
i just contributed, how long does it come into effect and do i need to contact a mod to keep my 68040 status (soon to be 601)

It should come into effect quickly, and you can keep your status by PM'ing a god.

Let me see if I understand...MR still isn't recognizing you as a Demi? (I thought that had been sorted out and you had already had a god fix your title.)

Have you tried logging out and back in to get the system to take a fresh look at your status?
 
Your title has been 68040 for at least half an hour (that's when I visited this thread last)... :confused:

...or are you referring to becoming a Demi in the first place...? I think one of the gods needs to push some buttons and pull some leavers...

Just kidding - it may be worthwhile to send a quick PM to Doctor Q or arn for their opinion. Probably don't need to work it out through this thread, as we can only guess.
 
i payed via paypal as i'm 17. (i use direct debit with my bank account with paypal.)

i'll give it till sunday.

That's why. Direct debit take 3-5 business days to change from the 'pending' status. Once the payment clears the back and into MR's account, PayPal sends the IPN to the server and the account status change happend.

Mine changed instantly, but I paid with a CC via paypal.

Just needed the appropriate gender change.

It's actually a big conspiracy, where none of them are allowed to tell you the benefits, until you are one yourself. Kind of the reverse of advertising really. :D
