Hi,

I created a website using I-Web and have hosted it using bluehost.com. The site works fine and looks great. My problem is that when I google it, it does show up, but the URL name is "Home," and the description below it are excerpts from the home page. I want the URL to be the name of the site, and I want the description to be more specific so that I can attract more clicks onto the site.

The catch is, I do not want to change the Home name from the site directory, only the URL.

Any help?

For reference, the site is www.scouz.com. Try googling scouz and you'll see what I mean.

Thanks,

Mike

Change the page title.

The only problem with that is then it changes the 'home' option at the top of all my pages. If you click on the site and you look at the top portion of the page there is an identical bar on each page. A "home," "about," "save money," etc.

Anyway I can do it without changing the home page title? Also, lets say I do change the page title. Will that just change the URL name or the description too?

Just edit the HTML by hand and change <title>Home</title> to <title>Whatever you want your title to be...</title>.

That is done with the description meta tags.

Do I need to contact Bluehost to create my own meta tags? I really appreciate your help, but until just googling and speed reading about meta tags just now I had never heard of them before.

It is just part of the HTML. Open the page in a text editor edit them and then re-upload it. Alternatively iWeb should have an option somewhere.

Did a help search for Meta Tags and just Meta and it came up with no results. I'll have to learn how to compose them and add them directly to the site through bluehost I guess. Thanks for your help.
