How do I change the account name on my apps?

My apps have my old .mac email address as an account name, I didn't continue with .mac and changed the account name to my current email address.

The app stores seems to want to make me re-buy any apps I bought before cancelling my mobileMe account.

How can I change the name on the apps? Or get the app store to recognise that I actually do own them?
