How do I change the name of one watch when I have two? (SOLVED)

This is strange. I added a second watch to my phone (Ultra). By default, both watches say “‘Name’s’ Apple Watch”, with my actual name. I want to update the name of the Ultra to add, well, Ultra. But every time I go into the app, and update the name, it will stay that way until I close the app. Then it all goes back to the same.

When I use “Find My”, it locates both watches, but doesn’t differentiate the two since the names keep going back.

What am I doing wrong?

That’s what I’ve done. I’ve tried 4 times, but after I close the watch app, the name reverts back.

Here you can see when I change the name, you can see the new name on the Ultra, and the original on the S6. The other two shots are after closing the app, then reopening the app. Back to the same names.

The forum’s layout of attachments is a little backward, but you get the idea.

Are you hitting "done" on the keyboard after entering the name? Also, are you actually connected to each watch as you try to change the names?

That’s very strange. What if you manually (instead of auto select the active watch) select the other watch and change that one first?

Yes change the name and then hit done on the keyboard. That should do it. I just tried it on mine and worked for me.

We have success! Not sure what changed, but I was able to do the Ultra. Maybe it had something to do with my issue with Verizon today, and deprovisioning. Idk. That was a whole other nightmare (all incoming calls going straight to VM, “User Busy”)
