Hey, so this is my first post on here and I'm pretty new to all this hacking stuff but I jail broke my phone by myself and it was pretty easy. I'm a fast learner. Anyway...I want to chnage the icons on my iphone like the ones that automatically come on the iPhone (phone, message, clock, safari, etc. ). I already know how to change the icons on apps permanently. I've been using iFile from Cydia and Winterboard. I get my icons from Cocoppa.

With regular apps like Facebook there are only two icon pictures that needs to be replaced once you go into iFile and it's pretty easy to just switch out that icon and replace it with the icon I want. But the problem I'm facing with the stock apps like safari is that when I go into iFile under var/stash/applications/MobileSafari I see 4 icons for safari and when I take them out and replace them with my new ones, after respringing my device the app is white/blank.

I tried this with the stock camera app and I was successful but I think it was because there were only 2 icons that needed to be replaced, not 4 like the Safari file did. So I guess I just really need step by step guidance on what to do...

Thanks!

Generally, you only need to change the icon@2x file

helpppp somebody

BUMP.

I've been looking into changing my stock app icons, although the only app icons I like are the ones from cocoPPa and can't seem to find the iphone directory in which safari stores the icons when I add them to my homepage. I have spent hours looking through the obvious directories (mobilesafari, bookmarks, app extensions etc.) and the internet has been NO HELP. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME.

thanks in advance.

It's in /var/mobile/stash/Applications

And don't forget to make sure the owner permissions is "mobile" using ifile

Edit: nevermind, misinterpreted your question. Bumpy has answered your question in the other thread though
