How do I check for Cable Model Signal

Hey Yo~~~
I just moved into a new flat and the previous owner had their cable TV and internet shut off, but the TV has been working fine for a while now... I'm wondering if there's a way to check if the internet had not been disconnected as well...

Would I have to buy a cable modem to check?? Is there anyway to check w/o a cable modem???

This same thing happened to me about 3 years ago, and I had free cable and internet for about a year until I moved out of the place

If its not wireless... then yeah you'd need a cable to check... or just buy a router... if your computer is has an Airport Express Card that is to use wireless internet that is.
