I just installed what I believed to be a blank ssd into my Macbook pro 15" 2011. I was about to format it using internet recovery when to my surprise the MacBook booted up straight away. It appears to have a clean install of high Sierra.

Very unorganised right now, but I think that a few weeks back I had already formatted it. However at the time I was using 2x Macbooks (also a 2010 15"). This probably sounds a bit silly but I'm actually not sure which Macbook this ssd is formatted to run on.

How can I check that it will run okay on this macbook? I went into disk utility and there is no option to erase it. I guess if it was formatted on the other Mac it would not work on this one?

Thanks in advance for any tips :)
