How do I clear Finder>Go>Recents on MacBook Pro OS 10.14.6? This has over 3,400 items going back a year or more. This is not Recent Items in the Apple menu or Recent Folders in the Finder>Go menu. It is Recents under the Finder>Go menu.

In playing around with this, I think it may not be possible to modify this default search folder. But you can create your own. Maybe you can change the shortcut to point to your new folder instead of the default.
Finder > Go > Recents > Action > Show Search Criteria
Change "Raw Query" to "Last Opened Date" and select something like Last 30 Days or whatever you want. Then save this search. It will show up in your sidebar but you'll have to play around with keyboard shortcuts to see if you can point the default shortcut to your new folder. I can't seem to modify or change the default Recents folder

Thank you for your input. I could not find the Action>Show Search Criteria part. And the rest of it is too complicated for me. willmtaylor led me to the easy solution of dropping folders into Privacy in Spotlight preferences which accomplished what I wanted to do -- eliminate certain items from showing up in the Recents Folder. I just discovered the Go>Recents, didn't even know it was there and was surprised to see items in there which I did not want showing up, anywhere. It may be a useful feature but I wish there were preferences or options for such things, more user control. I have not been happy with Mac OS since 10.7 when it brought in iOS stuff and, worse, some Windows stuff. But I won’t go into my lengthy rant on that. Thanks again for responding to my issue.
