How do I clone (backup) an external drive?

Hello all,

I've got a 3TB external drive that is full of media that I have converted from my movie collection. I've spent a lot of time converting and tagging everything, but I only have it in one place.. no backup. How would I go about cloning/backing up my external drive? I've got a second drive and I'm downloading Carbon Copy Cloner at the moment. Is that the tool I would use? Will it make an exact backup of my external drive?

I'd hate to lose all that data!

Yes CCC or Super Duper will clone the drive. Good idea backing it up btw
