My Macbook Pro (10.5.6) wakes up from sleep if you so much as look at the thing, seemingly.

Specifically, is there a way to prevent USB devices like mice from waking up the computer? I find this behaviour extremely annoying! :(

I don't believe you can prevent a USB mouse from waking up the computer, but you can prevent a bluetooth device from waking the computer.

Sounds like you have the network waking it from sleep.

System Preferences > Energy Saver > Options > Wake Options.

No, that's a different thing -- Wake-on-LAN, where it is possible to wake a sleeping computer by sending it a 'Magic' ethernet packet.

I still haven't found a way to get my MacBook to ignore USB when it's sleeping. When I plug or unplug a USB device, it will wake up. Something to do with being able to use a MacBook in clamshell mode with an external display.
