how do i delete account on mail

i dont use my old email account anymore and i wanted to get rid of it, how do i do that?

OK.

1. Launch Mail.
2. Select Mail/Preferences....
3. Click the Accounts tab.
4. Click the account in the Sidebar that you would like to delete.
5. Click the minus (-) sign.

This might be a bit late, but, you will lose any emails associated with that account.
