I just bought a LAcie 4TB porsche drive external from the apple store. When you turn it on it always shows up as two drives. Lacie 3.25TB and Lacie Share 750GB. I want to have one drive with the full 4TB. Simply trying to delete the "Lacie Share" partition in Disk Utility doesn't erase it. I've tried it over and over again. Any suggestions?

Do you want to preserve the other partition?

If not, as the OP suggested, simply use Disk Utility to create one partition on the drive, and be sure to go into Options, and select GPT as the partition scheme.

I am in the process of transferring 1TB of data off of it onto a different drive to give deleting both partitions a shot. Still got about 5 hours left. When I went to the Lacie site it said they charge $14.95 for phone support........so im avoiding that if at all possible. I will get back to you guys when the drive is cleaned.
