how do I delete music in iOS 8

so I have local copies of 73 songs on my iPhone 6 that I have listened to from my iTunes match subscription.
Does anyone know how I delete them? I'd expect to be able to delete them in Settings > General > Usage > Manage storage but there is no entry there for Music.
I'd expect to be able to delete them manually in iTunes but when I connect my phone to iTunes its as if there is no music on my phone.
