How do I delete photos in 'Camera Roll'?

I asked this question yesterday but, for reasons only known to themselves, the mods saw fit to delete the post. Thanks so much guys - what a lovely welcome to MacRumors.

So, I ask again, does anyone know how I can delete all the photos in the 'camera roll' on my iPhone.
