I have a 13inch Mid 2009 Pro and a 24inch Early 2008 Mac.

I want to display the Pro on my larger screen Mac. Can this be done and what cables might be needed?

I read some of the Apple site instructions but became when confused when they say "computer". I had no idea if they were referring to the Mac or the Pro.

Do you have a link to those instructions?

Anyway, only the 27" iMac can be used as display directly, but for your purposes you either look into Screen Sharing* (System Preferences > Sharing), or AirDisplay.

* Allows you to control one Mac from the other, but not use one Mac as an extended display for the other.

Thank You

Yes, the link referred to the 27" and now your response makes that clear. Shucks. Working with Quicken is a pain on this screen.

Sounds very interesting. What cable will I need to connect MBP to Firewire on Mac?

Firewire 800 cable, can be had for less than 10 USD via Newegg.

Showing my lack of computereze, is the Firewire 800 enough information to buy the correct cable?

Trying to display the 13" MBP (early 2009) to 23" Mac (early 2008)? Do I need more information such as pin size?
