Im trying to downgrade my iPod Touch from 4.0.2 to 4.0 in order to jail break. I've tried the whole TinyUmbrella process, but it still says I am on 4.0.2.
Can anyone tell me how to successfully downgrade? :)

Unless you used tinyumbrella to back up your SHSH blobs for 4.0 you can't.

So basically what you're saying is, I would have needed to back up my SHSH blobs when I was on 4.0? I have downloaded 4.0 firmware, would this help?

That's right, you need blobs for 4.0 if you want to downgrade to it.

I was able to do it without generating a blob. It generates a blob by itself anyway. I had to try it 20 times and after 1.5 hours, it worked. It is very poky or needs some specific sequence of steps. I don't know.
Also, when I did it. I lost all my apps. I had to redownload the apps. Not really a problem for me since they are all free stuff.

I am now updating to 4.1 :)

Not exactly. You needed to save your SHSH blobs while Apple was still signing them. Apple stopped signing 4.0 shortly after 4.0.1 was released. It has nothing to do with which version is on your device.
