How do I downgrade from 3 to 2.2 ipod touch 1g

I have an Ipod touch 1g and some of my accessory do not work with 3.0 how do I downgrade back to 2.2 software? I tried DFU mode then shift click and choose file and I get errors like error 1600

And I dont want to hack it, I just want to go from the apple 3.0 to the appe 2.2
