How do I edit long website links into short "clicky's"

I hope someone can help. In most of the forums I frequent, users often shorten long website address links to read "clicky" or "click here".

How do I do this please?

1) Type "clicky"
2) Highlight it
3) Click insert link (it's the button that looks like the Earth with a chain link, under the smiley face) and click OK
