Morning all,

I got my Intel Gen2 SSD's over the weekend, and have installed them in Raid 0 using icy dock converters, I cloned my OS onto there from my caviar black raid 0, so I want to run some sort of throughput test to compare the two, not application specific as I don't do any of the CS4, video stuff, just plain old read and write tests, please can you tell me the application to use,

I will then post the result here as well,

AJA tests are great for testing sequential speeds. For random I can't think of any tests at the moment.

Yeah they do but only cuz they don't know any better. :p

XBench sucks major nuggets!

The best free utility for testing drive and raid speed is IOGauge from Santools.

Number two would probably be the AJA System Test: http://www.aja.com/ajashare/AJA_System_Test_v601.zip

XBench is lame and Geekbench is just a waste of time and diskspace all together. Even though as you say, people use it a lot.

Speedtools is pretty good too ( http://www.speedtools.com/ ) but it's not free.

Thanks for these, using the aja, I can't get the other to download, my caviar black raid is showing 200mb/s in all tests of read/write on a 512mb file

the ssd raid is showing 149 write and 472 read on a 512mb file

is this what I should be expecting? Thanks in advance
