How do I find the number of music files?

In El Capitan how do I find the number of iTune12 music song files I own? I don't want to count them one by one. Is the amount listed in preferences?

By "own", do you mean bought from iTunes? If so, log in to the iTunes Store and look in Purchased(under the Music heading on the right hand side). It will list all your songs.

If you mean your total number of songs in iTunes on your computer, the number should be shown at the bottom of the window. If it isn't, go to View Menu>Show Status Bar.

Thank you very much. Totally overlooked the item count at bottom of window. Total items: 3,800 and growing.
