I'm a shame to asked but I have had the Mac BookPro for about a year. And I still feel stupid sometimes but I'm enjoying the Mac Book Pro very much.
But I would like to know how to see the drive where the DVD or CD are. Something like the PC's have where they name of Drives. D and E and so on.

Thanks for all your help.
Tom

You won't see the drive unless there is a disc in it. Then you'll see it on your desktop or in the sidebar in a Finder window. Macs do not use drive letters like Windows.

It just has the Hard drive and Network in the box. But my brother-in-law's Mac sounds like there is CD or DVD disk in the CD-ROM on boot up and shutting down the computer. My Mac Book Pro is fine but my brother-in-law's computer is the sounds like there is something in the CD-ROM. That is why I'm asking.
Thank you,
Tom

Some optical drives make a noise when starting up or waking from sleep, even when there is no disc in. This is normal.
