Somewhere
I'm now ready to get an upgraded GPU for my G3 powermac. When I've been looking around, all of the PC GPUs are a lot cheaper than the Mac versions of the same card. I know that you can flash the firmware on the PC cards so they will work in a Mac but can anyone tell me how to do it?

also just to make sure would this card work in a B&W G3 if I flashed it?

The process is different for different cards.

For any card, you'll likely need:
-A PC
-A DOS environment (usually from a boot floppy)
-A firmware flashing program
-Mac firmware, either snagged from a Mac card or downloaded

Many ATI and Nvidia cards can be flashed in OSX. I don't think older gen PCI cards can, though.

Again, google strangedogs. They have lists of compatible cards, roms and instructions in their forums.
