iPod touch How do I free up 'Other' space?

I have 3.09 gb of 'Other' space in iTunes. I have the 8 gig iPod Touch and I frequently add and remove full DVD movies. The last couple of times I removed a movie without adding another one simultaneously the amount of disk space that the movie allocated to the 'Video' category changed to the 'Other' category. In other words, the movie is gone but its memory lives on in the 'Other' category. Now there is not enough space to add movies. How do I fix this problem without resetting my iPod?
