I'm currently living outside of the U.S. and I miss a lot of services that I regularly use, such as Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, Crackle, and more. Because they geotrace your IP address they deny the ability to stream their content. I understand it from an advertising perspective, but since I will be back in a few months I consider myself prime material for being swayed by ads for services and products to buy on my return. That being said, I think using a proxy is totally in order, as I'd like to keep enjoying these services. Can anyone give me a basic rundown of proxies, such as whether to go with a free or paid service, what impact it has on network speed, whether any of my personal information is put at risk going through a proxy, and how to configure it? It would be especially helpful to have on my iPad and iPhone in addition to my Macs. Thanks for any help!
