How do I get ATV to update its library?

All my videos are stored on an Airport disk which works fine - except when I import a new video to my iTunes library - it won't show-up on my Apple TV.

I've just imported The Simpsons Movie which will play fine on my MacBook Pro but it just won't show-up in the list of movies on my ATV. I restarted both my Mac and the Apple TV but it still wasn't there.

In the end I had to re-setup the Apple TV and re-link it with my iTunes library.

Surely there's an easier way?!

It should be as simple as just selecting your AppleTV in iTunes and pressing the sync button, assuming the file is in the correct format to play on an AppleTV.
