My guess is that it will not work unless you take your cable box out of the loop. It appears that you have a HDTV cable box. However, it outputs a video signal to your monitor. It does not output an RF HDTV signal. The Elgato eyeTV receives HDTV via RF signals—either ATSC over-the-air signals or Clear QAM from your cable provider. All of the broadcast HDTV stations carried by your cable provider are available as Clear QAM signals. Your provider's digital music channels are also in Clear QAM format. The eyeTV will handle these just fine. You might be lucky and have some cable-only HDTV programming available in Clear QAM format. If so, then the eyeTV can handle these. However, most of your HDTV channels are encrypted. They can be viewed only through your cable box and not through your eyeTV.
