Good evening.

I use Spark as my email client on my iPhone. This is great on the phone , however whenever I get an email & my series 4 watch buzzes , when I open the email on my watch all it shows is the title , & NO email content. It just says fetching & then says to use Handoff on phone. (This also happened on my series 3). Well if I have to then look at my phone to read the email , what’s the point of Spark having a watch app ?

Is this a known problem as I can’t believe it should behave like this.

I have sometimes used Canary Mail & Air Mail , both of which I can read the email on the watch.

Am I missing something & is there a setting within the app or something , as this just seems daft to me.

Cheers

Silly question, but does the app have a Watch app, or is it just showing the generic notification that you’ve got an email?

Developers need to make a Watch app to fully support emails on the watch.

Not a daft question at all.

Yes Spark has a native Apple Watch app , but consistently fails to show content.

Canary & Airmail have a native Watch app & show content.

The reason I don’t regularly use Canary is because they have no watch complication & the reason I don’t regularly use Airmail is because their unread count on their complication is just too hit & miss & the support is bad.

You're not missing something - Spark just doesn't support it properly. I think if it's a pure text email then it does work (which is why it tries to do it), but anything more and it just tells you to check the phone. So many emails now are not plain text that this feature doesn't really work.

I still prefer Spark, and look forward to templates and full shortcut support, but the Watch app isn't the best.

Many thanks for your reply & explanation.

All a bit poor from Spark then really , especially when other Apple watch email apps can handle it properly. I’m undecided still with regards to the way forward with this. I use Spark because I like their phone app , however they have no updated complication for infograph Watch Face on series 4. Neither do Canary & Airmail don’t either , however their phone app is ok , but their watch apps are good as you can read on the watch.

Decisions decisions.
