I already have a Ping account. I've synced my iPhone, tried the app store, nothing.

I posted about this in the ping thread. I will need to check it out.

I thought it weird that ping not be prominently displayed on the iPhone.

Would be cool to have a separate app but I guess that defeats its entire purpose which is to get you to buy things.

I think Ping was an OTA update. I'd assume the iTunes app is only a few MB, so it's likely. I don't know if Ping is automatically added or if it was pushed to my device after I signed up, but it was a smooth update. Apple designed iTunes and the App Store so they can easily be updated OTA so they don't need to wait for a major software update. Notably, my iPad didn't get Ping yet.

Cannot add friends on iPhone

Ping on the iPhone seems to be even more restricted than on Mac iTunes 10.

Cannot find any way to add friends.
