How to make my iMac desktop with macOS High Sierra a
nd get rid of the dark mode that it put into it all bt itself?

Are you sure you're running High Sierra? I thought dark mode wasn't introduced until a later version.

In any case, check System Preferences/General. At the top should be 'Appearance', which you can set to Light.

There is not light display in my System Preferences. either. I am running macOS High Sierra, tried to reinstall it yesterday, but it still turned out the same way. all this black is everywhere.

Hello all, I discovered what happened. I accidentally turned on Dark Mode in Onyx when I was using it. I opened it up, turned the Dark Mode off. and Boy oh boy am I a happy Camper again. I can see everything again. Just like it is supposed to be. Very strong App, Onyx. Good one too. Thank you all for your assistance and help.
