I have just taken off a decal from my macbook pro 15 inch but it has left an outline that is still visible even when off, i don't think that it is residue it is more of a shadow. Does anyone know what i can do to get rid of it?

I'd try either acetone or isopropyl alcohol.

I think I'd start with the isopropyl alcohol, Acetone can be a bit harsh for the unsuspecting, next post will be "where do I get new keys for my MBP, I spilled Acetone on them"

Hmmmmm.. YUP.. Agreed w/ above..

I'd start with the LEAST Caustic Solution first.. and maybe even 'mild soap' and a damp cloth to begin.. ** and DO Not rub too hard in any one particular direction, the MBP finish is Anodized, and will surely show what you abuse it with, no matter how gently you think you are being with it..

Think of the Sticker and its 'Leftover Shadow' as being a Tan-line.. the area around it has Aged with use, and under it has not. In time, it will quite likely catch up, depending upon what sort of life it has lived!!

Let the whole thing be exposed to strong sun light for a week to even out? :D

Seriously, try the less caustic method first, always tape up the logo to protect it. I want to say that stuff from auto part stores to rid of road bugs.
