I am not sure how to get rid of this. It shows up when you hover over a picture. I hate it and it didn't always do this.

It's called Metadata Tooltips (Shortcut: T)

You can also access it via the icon that has a tag with a star in it. It can be seen in your image attachment. Lower right corner (partially cut)

Actually, if you use it in certain conditions, it is a huge time saver then having to look at the left corner all the time. For me, it becomes especially useful in Full Screen Mode.
