I had a macbook pro and had the bootable OSX and apps and what not on a harddrive.
I got a new macbook air. I wanted everything on my old MBPs harddrive to be on my MBA so, I used migration assistant to transfer everything. Instead of MERGING the 2 accounts, they made me change the name of 1 so I ended up with 2 different accounts. It made me change it so I changed the Macbook PRO's to "original".
After setting everything up, i went to system pref > accounts and just deleted the One I did not want called "original" cause that's a dumb name.
But now, when go to log out it says "Log out of David" which is what I want but whenever it asks me for permission, the user name is still written as "Original" And my home folder is the shortname that was paired with "Original", not the one I wanted.
How do i Merge or delete one of these?? Its real annoying.
EDIT:
I tried this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1428
.......
edit 2:
screw it, i just reformatted and remigrated again. pain but whatever. then deleted the new and empty account.
