macOS 10.12.3 (16D32) on a 17,1 iMac:

Opened Sysytem Pref/Spotlight/Privacy added my main Sierra HD to the list, then selected Sierra HD and deleted it from the list, then closed System Prefs.

There is no indexing taking place. There is no dot in the Spotlight Glass logo to tell me it is reindexing.
Has indexing changed in Sierra 10.12.3 (16D32)?
[doublepost=1485328452][/doublepost]Nevermind, apparently no dot appears in the spotlight glass in menubar in Sierra. The spotlight search window shows an active indexing bar that I did not see before.

I noticed the "indexing" progress only shows up for external drives, not for internal..

However, evidence of this shows under Battery icon, "Apps using sufficient energy" as below.

Yet, if u bring up Spotlight, and start typing there is no indication of indexing happening.

The progress bar shows actual progress between and is displayed between below where u type and the search results. however it only displays for external drives only
