How do I get the new iphone if I did not pre-order?

I am not on this site very often and just now figured out that there is going to be a problem with purchasing the new iphone at this late date.

What do you think is going the be the best way to get it since I have not pre-ordered?

I realize I won't get one at launch but like to know how to get it as soon as possible.

I have at&t premiere if that makes a difference.

AT this point, even my grandma ordered the iphone. I would give up.
