I'm trying to get train and bus directions on the new maps. Is it even possible without downloading another app?

Oh my...lol....I upgraded my 4S to iOS6 to get a feel for how the new iPhone will be like and until I can upgrade next month. I can say this is my only gripe because I use it alot but Hopefully by the time I get the 5 it will be added or google gets its map app approved.

This is my main gripe with the iPhone 5 and why I'm not updating any of my iPhones and iPad to iOS 6.

I'm hoping Google get's their app approved quickly for iOS 6, but I'm not holding my breath. It's going to make Apple's weak attempt look even worse, so I think it's going to be a LONG approval process. (bastards)

This appears to be at most a dozen metro areas, and not all the public transport in those areas, just trains. Am I missing something? And you have to download one for each city? Is that Apple's solution?

I thought Apple's reasoning to use these third party solutions was hilariously inconsistent, too. They're (poorly) reinventing the wheel with their maps app, but they say they're using these third party transit apps so they don't have to reinvent the wheel.

Regards,
Tom

Yes, that's the Apple solution and yes, you missed something. This way you can get more accurate data than one provider for all.

Good chance any particular piece of data would be coming from the same source. For instance, if there are two apps that provide transit information for the same thing, I'd imagine they would each get there data from the same provider.
