I just got a new iPhone 4 and i was wondering how do i import everything from my old iphone to my newer one.

Ah, sorry about that. Running a windows vista 32 bit. The one iphone was linked to an mac though. The newer one to the vista.

Can the iPhone back up your contacts to windows, if it can you should be able to restore your contacts by syncing, has the older phone ever been synced to the windows computer?

The older ipod has never been linked to windows. Do i need to plug it into windows in order for it to sync?

Well that Should back up your contacts from your old phone to the PC. So I would try that.

Well i got it to transfer my purchases but im still not sure how to import all my info.

Plug in your old iPhone

In iTunes:
  • Click your XXX's iPhone icon
  • Click Sync on the right side
  • Go To iTunes --> Preferences --> Devices
  • Make sure your phone is backed up
  • Connect your new iPhone
  • Click the XXX's iPhone icon
  • Click restore
  • After the restore, click set up as a backup

Will this restore write over everything on the iphone 4? I already set up on the 4 in iTunes. But I don't have all the contacts that were on the 3G. I don't want to screw this up...
