I have an old AT&T SIM and want to take all the numbers off that and put it in my new 3G S

Anyone know the answer to this?

Theres an import from sim card somewhere in settings but I'm not sure if thats what it does or not. iphone contact info isn't stored on the SIM itself

It's under 'settings--->Mail,Contacts,Calendars--> Import SIM Contacts'

if you have the old phone available and can connect it to your mac, using bluetooth or a cable you could sync with your address book.
There were some free apps available for the jailbroken iPhones, maybe there is one in the App Store nowadays...

When I picked up my iPhone at AT&T this morning, I had my (soon to be old) phone with me. They transferred all of the numbers (SIM and non-SIM) to the iPhone. It was very quick. They said as long as the phone works (and the connector) they will do it as a free service.

If there is a close AT&T store, give them a call and ask if they can do it for you.
