iPod How do I install Handbrake and Mac the Ripper?

:confused: i read the thread about dvd to ipod and so i downloaded handbrake and mac the ripper but now how do i get the program installed i would really apreciate help.i have no idea i tryed to open and it says "choose the program you want to open this file"thanks joshe
