How do I install XP (for Boot Camp) or 2000 on an external usb drive? Can windows specify a target disc similar to OS X?

How do I install Windows 2000 or XP on external hard drive?

I'm fairly certain you can't. The Boot Camp setup guide says you need at least 10Gb free on your Startup Disk.
