iTunes 7.6 seems to break the oktoprep process. I have searched high and low, and can't find a good tutorial on how to jailbreak 1.1.2 with iTunes 7.6. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Same problem

I had to re-break my touch and when doing the same steps as before it seems that the new itunes (7.6) does in-fact break the breaking process. Once the jailbreak is completed, iTunes opens and says my touch is in recovery mode and needs to be restored to be used. Any ideas?

Exit iTunes, go into Activity Monitor and search for iTunes Helper and quit the process. Download and run iNdependence, you'll get some errors because it was made for the iPhone but it will bring your iPod touch out of recovery mode.

I don't see why so many people are worried about using iTunes v7.6. I have been using it and the jailbreaking process still goes smoothly every time.
